After loosing toss Rajasthan Royals started batting. Opening batsman Sanju Samson's 92 runs in 45 balls, Rajasthan Royals posted a big total 217 for 4 wicket after 20 overs. other than Sanju, Jos Buttler's 23 runs in 14 balls also helped RR to reach this big total.

Chasing a massive total, Royal Challengers Bangalore lost Brendon McCullum's wicket early. But Virat Kohli and Quinton de Kock then started to play a fantastic game and this two batsman added a quickfire 77 runs. After fall of Quinton de Kock's wicket Kohli then started to build another big partnaship with AB de Villiers .But Shreyas Gopal's bowling changed the game. He first got Kohli and then took the wicket of AB de Villiers. At the end of their innings RCB scored 198 runs in 20 years and lost the match by 19 runs.
