Salman Khan Gets 5 Year Jail After Being Convicted For Blackbuck Poaching Case

The Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been sent to jail for five years in the 20-year-old case after being convicted for blackbuck poaching case when they were shooting for the film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' with Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam and Tabu.


Jodhpur District Presiding Officer Devkumar Khatri pronounced Salman guilty of killing two blackbucks but acquitted co-stars 
Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam and Tabu. The superstar has been sent to jail for five years and a penalty of Rs 10,000 was also charged on him.

"Salman Khan was held guilty under Section 9/51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act. Blackbuck is an endangered animal and included in the schedule-I of the Wildlife (Protection) Act-1972."




The 52-year-old actor's bail plea hearing is scheduled for tomorrow. The actor will spent the night in the Jodhpur Central Jail. Jodhpur DIG (Prisons) Vikram Singh said today he will not receive any special treatment during his stay in jail and made no demands or special requests - including drinking water.

The Bishnoi community in Rajasthan got satisfied with the conviction of Salman but they were not happy over the acquittal of Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre.Rampal Bhawad, the State President of  Bishnoi Tigers Vanya Evam Paryavaran Sanstha told “We’ll analyse the judgement. We want an immediate appeal to be filed against those who have been acquitted".
