Flying beetle cyborg with powerd backpacks
Now Here comes the cyborg controllable beetles. Electronic-filled backpacks with tiny battery have been used to create controllable flying bio-robots.
Male M. torquata beetles had four electrodes implanted into four of their flight muscles. Small electric pulse was then administered to steer them directionwise, like right or left.
Their acceleration can be increased by upping the frequency range of their pulses. A capture system with 3D motion tracked their position during their flight.
The researchers were found that when a continuous pulse was applied, the beetles would be eventually adapted to the intervention.
